Customer Service Office – An open space (since 1994)

It serves as a meeting place and a hub for monitoring the precarious situation faced by a significant proportion of the city’s migrant population, offering: -Support and guidance services across various areas: education, healthcare, housing, administrative matters and employment, amongst others.
-A clothing bank.
-Food distribution in collaboration with the Álava Food Bank.
-A programme offering academic support, leisure activities, summer camps and literacy classes for migrant children, young people and adults (since 1996).
-A network of communication facilitators.

The Amaia Programme – Support for migrant women at risk of social exclusion (since 2004)

The ‘Amaia’ programme offers temporary accommodation to migrant women at risk of social exclusion who do not have access to municipal resources. With nine places available, it accommodates women and children of various nationalities. Its aim is to promote social and labour market inclusion by providing a safe environment where women can access resources and improve their quality of life. The programme works in key areas such as accommodation, health and administrative procedures, training, employment integration and the development of interpersonal relationships.

Active Volunteering – (since 2016) Encourages active public participation in addressing social needs.

The Active Volunteering Programme is designed to engage the local community in supporting and assisting migrants and refugees. Through this initiative, we offer volunteers the opportunity to play an active role in creating a more inclusive and supportive society. Volunteers take part in a range of activities, offering support with language teaching, helping out in cultural integration workshops, providing support in various settings, and distributing food and essential items. This project not only benefits the participants, but also fosters the creation of support networks and mutual enrichment between different cultures.

Intercultural Week – since 1995

Intercultural Week is a forum designed to raise awareness of the realities faced by migrants and refugees. Through talks, films, workshops, exhibitions, performances and intercultural activities, it promotes integration and social recognition.

The Harrera Programme – Accommodation and support for foreign nationals (since 2007)

The Harrera-Etorkizun programme offers temporary support to vulnerable migrants who are unable to access municipal resources. It provides accommodation, food, healthcare and legal assistance, employment guidance and language learning. In addition, essential administrative procedures are carried out, medical appointments are attended, and training for employment is provided. Leisure, social and integration activities are also promoted, with the aim of fostering independence and improving opportunities for those participating in the programme.

Aukerak Suspertzen – Community-based educational support for children from migrant families (since 2020)

At the association, we have communication facilitators – people who assist those who come to us seeking support, particularly when there are language or cultural barriers – by helping with basic administrative tasks.
