Amaia Programme: Supporting women at risk of social exclusion

The "Amaia" programme offers temporary shelter to immigrant women at risk of social exclusion who do not have access to municipal resources. With 9 places available, it has taken in women and minors of various nationalities. Its aim is to promote social and labour inclusion, providing a safe environment where women can access resources and improve their quality of life. The programme works in key areas such as accommodation, health and administrative procedures, training, job placement and development of interpersonal relationships.

Mobile Photography Competition

The African-American Residents' Association of Vitoria-Gasteiz, in collaboration with the City Council, is organising a mobile photography workshop for those who wish to learn basic techniques and express themselves through their images. With no previous experience required, participants will explore key concepts and practice outdoors, and are also invited to take part in the Mobile Photography Competition, a space to make hidden realities visible through art. Come and take part and show your vision to the world!

Etorkizun Harrera (Reception Programme)

The Etorkizun Harrera Programme focuses on welcoming and accompanying migrants and refugees who come to our city in search of a new start. This programme offers a safe and welcoming environment, with the aim of facilitating the social and cultural integration of the participants. Through workshops, legal advice and support in the search for employment and housing, we work so that the people who participate in this programme can build a stable and autonomous life. In addition, we promote access to basic services such as healthcare and training, to ensure that everyone has the same opportunities for development.

Intercultural Week and Storytelling Competition: Reflection and Shared Culture

Intercultural Week is a meeting place that seeks to raise awareness about the reality of migrants and refugees. Through activities such as workshops, shows and an intercultural festival, integration and social recognition are promoted. As part of this event, the International Storytelling Competition has been a platform to give voice to stories about migration and loss. With participation from different countries and stories in Basque and Spanish, the competition continues to reflect the value of memory, refuge and cultural diversity.

Aukerak suspertzen (School support)

The Aukerak Suspertzen project aims to offer school support to children at risk of social exclusion, especially those from migrant families. Through this programme, we provide educational tools and a space for accompaniment to promote learning and integration into the education system. Participants are assisted by teachers and volunteers who support them in their school work, helping to improve their academic performance and promoting greater participation in the social and school life of the community. This project focuses not only on education, but also on the personal and emotional development of the children.

Active Volunteering Programme

The Active Volunteering Programme is designed to involve the local community in supporting and accompanying migrants and refugees. Through this initiative, we offer volunteers the opportunity to play an active part in creating a more inclusive and supportive society. Volunteers participate in various activities, such as accompanying the participants of the Etorkizun Harrera programme in their administrative procedures, offering support in language teaching or collaborating in cultural integration workshops. This project not only benefits the participants, but also encourages the creation of support networks and mutual enrichment between different cultures.
